Garland (WBAP/KLIF) – Garland Police were involved in a high speed pursuit Saturday through Garland, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Irving, and Coppell. They were chasing Alfredo Patino who reportedly had been threatening to kill his girlfriend, and was already wanted for family violence. He reportedly shot at pursuing officers several times during the chase, but there is no evidence that he hit anything. Garland Police say no officers ever fired at him. They finally stopped him in Coppell with a PIT maneuver. A woman in the car with him ran, but was quickly caught. Patino then apparently shot himself to death. The woman who had been in the car with him was questioned, then released.
