ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Arlington Police Department is mourning the loss of a longtime K9 Unit named Mojo who died Tuesday after overheating during a police search.
Mojo was deployed as officers were searching for a suspect Tuesday morning around 10:00am Tuesday morning.
Officers noticed Mojo overheating and took him to an animal hospital.
Mojo died around 2:30pm Tuesday.
“Today we experience a significant loss to our APD team,” said Assistant Police Chief Kevin Kolbye. “Mojo was an exceptional K9 partner, friend, and served the citizens of Arlington honorably.”
This is the first K9 death during a duty assignment in Arlington.
