Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – The head of a north Texas company who gave state Attorney General Ken Paxton more than $300,000 in campaign contributions and money to fight Paxton’s legal troubles, has agreed to pay $3.5 million to settle a Medicare and Medicaid fraud complaint against his company. James H. Webb doesn’t admit his company, Preferred Imaging LLC, did anything wrong, but has agreed to pay the fine to settle on going federal and state investigations. One of those investigations was being performed by a unit of Paxton’s office.
The Texas A.G. still faces a criminal fraud indictment out of Collin County, as well as federal civil charges, and at least one state bar complaint.
