(WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a brief to defend campus carry after three professors at UT Austin sued Texas over the law.
Paxton called the lawsuit from the three professors frivolous. He said he’s confident it will be dismissed because the legislature passed a constitutionally-sound law.
The professors sued saying the campus carry law is forcing dangerously-experimental gun policies and are asking a federal judge to grant an injuction blocking the law.
Paxton said in a statement, “There is no legal justification to deny licensed, law-abiding citizens on campus the same measure of personal protection they are entitled to elsewhere in Texas.”
