FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Fort Worth Botanic Garden could be facing up to $15 million in repairs that have accumulated over the last few years.
The Garden’s conservatory has been closed to the public three times since March due to flooding caused by a leaky irrigation system, which has also caused structural damage and equipment malfunctions.
The problems caused temperatures to drop to 38 degrees. Plants and tree collections are in danger when temperatures drop below 50 degrees.
A large sinkhole also formed in June behind an outdoor stage at the Garden.
One change that could come to visitors to help pay for repairs is an entry fee. It’s currently free to get in.
