DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Independent School District starts the new year with fewer teachers than it needs.
DISD’s Human Resources Department worked through the weekend, but the district is still about 100 teachers short. Still, that’s better than it has been in years past. Dallas has more than 200 schools, and 10,000 teachers, so 100 open positions is actually a very small number.
In addition, the president of the school board said the district is on sound financial footing, so there’s no reason to think hiring new teachers will be difficult.
