Irving (WBAP/KLIF) – 2200 Irving voters went to the polls Saturday, and approved a school district tax redistribution plan. 82% voted for it; 18% against. What they approved was a 13 cent tax rate increase in one category that was offset by a 13 cent decrease in another category, so the net effect to the voters was zero. However, their approval means the school district gets more money from the state, and that means raises for Irving ISD’s teachers, and more money for school maintenance.
