DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas schools will be trimming down on the number of standardized tests for elementary and middle school students.
The district plans to cut 38% of its assessments of course performance, which are mostly tests that don’t have a corresponding STAAR Test.
Before the change, a third grader would take 12 tests a year. With the update, he or she will now only have to take four.
DISD is also redoing how they evaluate their teachers, eliminating external evaluation groups and cutting the number of evaluations a teacher has during a school year.
