DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Doors open Friday for the Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings says the event has grown significantly since it was first started by Mayor Ron Kirk 20 years ago.
“It just took care of a couple thousand kids and a few volunteers and community events and now, over 20 years, we have taken care of over 250,000 young men and woman,” said Mayor Rawlings.
Besides school supplies, students will get free health, dental and vision screenings as well as free haircuts.
The 20th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair runs from 8:00am until 2:00pm Friday at Fair Park.
