ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – In an unanimous vote, the Arlington City Council has agreed to ask voters in November to approve a proposal for a new ballpark for the Texas Rangers.
Opponents of the plan say the City’s claim of no new taxes actually means an extension of a tax that would have gone away.
The new ballpark would have a retractable roof and air conditioning.
The deal is said to keep the Rangers in Arlington until 2054.
