ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Arlington Police Department is once again partnering with student athletes within the Arlington Independent School District and this year they are bringing in more students.
Arlington Police Lieutenant Christopher Cook says the Coach 5-0 Program shows students that interaction with law enforcement isn’t always negative.
“We have teens who regularly come up to officers and now they have gotten to know the names of officers,” said Cook. “Not only the school resource officers but I’m talking about officers that actually participate in their neighborhoods or patrol their areas.”
This year the program again partners with football players but also includes basketball and volleyball players as well.
