LEWISVILLE (WBAP/KLIF News) – A new bridge over Lewisville Lake will open on Saturday morning.
It will allow crews to start upgrades on the existing bridge on Interstate 35E.
Once work is completed, the interstate will go from six lanes to 14, including frontage roads and two toll lanes. Pedestrians and cyclists will also get a lane of their own for the first time ever.
It’s part of a multi-billion dollar rebuild of the major north-south corridor from Interstate 635 to Highway 380.
The 35Express project is expected to wrap up next Summer.
