Sansom Park (WBAP/KLIF News) – An Evangelical church pastor in Sansom Park, northwest of Fort Worth, is drawing national attention for a sermon posted on youtube.
During the sermon, Donnie Romero praises the shooter in Orlando for ending the lives of almost 50 “sodomites,” and called for the deaths of victims still in the hospital.
“I will pray to God like I did this morning, and I will do it tonight, I will pray that God will finish the job that that man started,” he says.
The church is at the end of a strip mall along Jacksboro Highway, a few blocks from Loop 820. No one was parked outside Tuesday afternoon.
Romero’s sermon followed a vigil in Orlando where a Jewish rabbi and Muslim imam said they hope to work with the LGBT community to pass a ban on the type of gun used in the Pulse Night Club shooting.
“We are deeply hurt, our heart is broken,” Imam Muhammad Musri said at the vigil.
After another preacher praised the Orlando shooter in California, hundreds of protestors gathered outside. They held signs reading “Hate is not a Christian value.” Some say they drove from as far away as Los Angeles, almost 400 miles away.
In Sansom Park, Romero said he supported the California preacher’s comments.
“He was glad and happy that the 50 sodomites were dead,” Romero said. “I agree 100 percent.”
